The 'Coach of the Month' is featured the last Monday of every month in 'News Final' at 11:00 on Global Winnipeg.

Coach of the Month Awards program.

Frank Verbong - Softball - Winnipeg

Frank Verbong's Squirt B team participated in the provincials from July 6-8 and placed 3rd in their pool, with a one win and two-loss record.

Coaching at the grassroots level, Frank taken a group of girls that didn't know how to hold a bat or throw a ball and turned them into a team who competes successfully.

In his coaching practices, Frank has taught these children what it means to be a team as well as, the importance of playing hard and losing gracefully. He has taught his players to treat coaches and adults with respect. Most importantly, he has instilled fun on the field.

His time and efforts have not gone unnoticed with the parents; he is an excellent role model for the children he coaches.
