The 'Coach of the Month' is featured the last Monday of every month in 'News Final' at 11:00 on Global Winnipeg.

Brian coaches out of the Selkirk Judo Club guiding athletes as young as 7-years-old all the way up to adults. This fourth degree black belt instructor dedicates most of his time to assist his athletes and promote the sport of Judo.

Under the tutelage of Brian, the club routinely medals at each competition they enter but he stresses to his athletes to look past the medals and recognize success in each and every match.

Brian is a member of the Judo Manitoba Committee and helped organize the Senior Nationals last year, while in addition to working on completing his Level 3 NCCP Coaching Certificate.

He also organizes fun events and competitions that raise money towards a new dojo for the club and Habitat for Humanity. Brian constantly encourages respect, discipline and fair play.

For being May’s “Coach of the Month”, Brian will receive a Coaching Manitoba clipboard and t-shirt, Global Sports merchandise and a Robins gift package.
