The 'Coach of the Month' is featured the last Monday of every month in 'News Final' at 11:00 on Global Winnipeg.

Coaching Manitoba is pleased to provide you with June's recipient of the

Coach of the Month Awards program.

Rene has been coaching track and cross-country running at Warren Collegiate Institute for the last 14 years. His dedication to athletics has created an environment at the school where everyone is encouraged to participate. That fun and supportive atmosphere has garnered the school numerous Provincial Championships and records.

After record setting performances or personal bests, Rene is always the first person there to congratulate his athletes but never takes any of the credit himself. Recently though, Rene was named the 2007-2008 Grey Cup Legacy High School Coach of the Year for his tireless dedication to his students in Warren. Rene is always there for his athletes, running as many as five practices a week starting in the winter months. He encourages all of them to set personal goals and then to go out and attain them.

For being June’s “Coach of the Month”, Rene will receive a Coaching Manitoba clipboard and t-shirt, Global Sports merchandise and a Robins gift package. The “Coach of the Month” is featured on Global Winnipeg the last Monday of every month in “News Final” at 11:00 p.m. “Good Coaches Build Better People”
