Coach of the Month : April 2008

The 'Coach of the Month' is featured the last Monday of every month in 'News Final' at 11:00 on Global Winnipeg.

Kevin led the Winnipeg Thrashers to an outstanding season. Under Kevin's guidance, the Thrashers were a perfect 49-and-0 in winning the Manitoba AAA Midget Championship. Overall the team compiled a resounding 58-and-2 season record and representing the West won the Silver medal at the 2008 Telus Cup National Midget Championship in Ottawa.

Over the years, Kevin’s teams have been very successful and many of his players have gone on to play in other leagues in Canada and the States. Some players even mention that they have learned and done more advanced drills with Kevin then they have at higher levels. He always strives to make his players and teams better then their last game.

Leading by example, Kevin makes sure his players are respectful to everyone they encounter both on and off the ice. He gives up most of his personal time between September and the end of April for the team. His commitment to the sport is equal to his passion for the sport of hockey.

For being April's “Coach of the Month”, Kevin will receive a Coaching Manitoba clipboard and t-shirt, Global Sports merchandise and a Robins gift package.
