Coaching Manitoba Excellence Awards Finalists

After a call for nominations and an exhaustive selection process with many excellent candidates, we are pleased to announce the finalists for this years Coaching Manitoba Excellence Awards:

Vince Leah Award – Grassroots

• Ashley Fudge – Equestrian (Dugald)
• Sylvia Swaenepoel – Bowling-Five Pin (Carberry)
• Rick Syrenne – Special Olympics (Winnipeg)

Dr. Jack Hunt Award – Developmental

• Alex Mowat – Curling (Winnipeg)
• Ats Odaguchi – Bowling-Ten Pin (Winnipeg)
• Eileen Thiessen – Special Olympics (Winnipeg)

Peter Dick Award – School Systems

• Eugene Kaminsky – Hockey (Shaftesbury High School)
• Marth Maksymyk – Soccer (Lord Nelson School)
• Guy McKim – Rugby (Dakota Collegiate)

Peter Williamson Award – High Peformance

• Ayach Bounachada – Fencing (Winnipeg)
• Larry McKay – Volleyball (Winnipeg)

The winners of these awards will be announced April 12 at a brunch to honour some of Manitoba’s best coaches. Honourees will also include Manitoba coaches who coached internationally in 2007, and those that have dedicated years of service to their sport in the province.

The Coaching Manitoba Excellence Awards brunch will take place at the Hilton Suites Winnipeg Airport, April 12 beginning at 10:00 a.m.
