SPRING AND SUMMER COACHING CLINICS
The sun is shining, the snow is melting and the temperatures are rising! It’s time to put away those skates, get out the cleats and tune up your bike; in other words, time to gear up for spring and summer sports. The beginning of a sports season is always very exciting but can be a very busy time, especially for coaches who are trying to manage the various demands on their time in order to be ready for the upcoming season. One such demand is ensuring that you have received the appropriate NCCP training to best provide for your athletes and meet your sports coach education requirements.
With all the changes to coaching programs, it can be somewhat challenging for a coach to determine what type of training is necessary to complete for their sport. To make life and coaching a little easier, we have outlined a few steps to provide you with the best information possible and to answer all of your coaching training questions.
- Click on your sports web-link below. In most cases your sport has posted the coach training requirements for the category you are coaching at and the next available course dates.
- Contact your Provincial Sport Organization. If you are unsure of what type of coach training you need to complete or when the next courses are offered, call or email your sport. They will be able to provide you with the best coaching information specific to your sport.
- If you not sure where to start looking for information or need to find out about multi-sport coaching courses (theory courses) or any other coaching development opportunities and initiatives contact Coaching Manitoba at 925-5913 or tomhammond@sport.mb.ca.
